Hey! Thx so much for the walk through! We've had it for many years and this is the first time we've done it! And so far, it's removed all the water and it's not come back! Your instructions were perfect and the tip about the shop vac and going slow was spot on! Thanks for taking the time to put this together and share! That took care of the stink that I recently noticed whenever the washer was in spin cycle. I ended up placing duct tape around the entire access port opening to avoid slicing my hands and your wet vac tip suggestions were excellent and kept things from getting messy. After cleaning that cavity and cap, the stink is gone.

One thing that would be helpful to know here is that inserting a nail in the access panel hole and turning will not open the disk.  Insert the nail all the way into the hole until you feel it stop, then press in about 5mm more before you try to turn.  There is a plastic tab holding the disk in place that needs to be pushed back to unhook it and allow the disk to turn.

Thanks for making this video. I followed it step by step. My washer wouldn't pump out the water before and it works now perfectly. Saved me a bunch of money for a repair guy.

Still a good tutorial after 5 years. Ditto on using the shop vac for the water overflow out of the pump. Saved me a lot of extra time.

This video no doubt saved me a couple of hundred dollars in repair bills, so thank you very much for that. It also opened my eyes up to the necessity of doing regular maintenance on one's washing machine. There's no reason to not periodically clean out the pump area, instead of waiting for something to go wrong.

The alignment for the pipe cap is obvious because it is “keyed” with a notch. Also, don’t close up the access port before running the machine to make sure your seal is good, and not leaking! It took me four attempts to get the thing to seal well. I thought it was grit in the threads causing the leaking, but ultimately I got a good seal only after washing the silicone flange on the cap under hot water. There was muck stuck behind it. BTW, my machine was draining during the drain cycle — I could hear it — but not during the spin. The culprit was a small piece of plastic in the trap.

I did not have a nail to open the panel so I improvised with a wire coat hanger straightened out one end. I use them to unclog drains of hair. This was a very helpful video. Saved me from throwing the baby out with the bath water. Bosch is a damn good product. I do not like these front load washers, but it has lasted us for a good number of years.

Pefect! I came across this video trying to figure out how to get the access door off, and the process worked perfectly. Thanks for posting, and remember, those edges are very sharp, people. Gloves would be recommended.

Thank you! I also cleaned inside the port/hole that feeds into the pump cavity and found a bunch of additional dirt and muck.

To add to many of the comments of gratitude and thanks, I believe you're fix has done it for my first load at least we will see how subsequent ones go. There is a strange noise now coming from the pump area that I cleaned out. I found a gold chain and some other magnetic bits and lots of gunk which I scraped out with a small screwdriver, so hope I didn't damage anything but it was a plastic channel and I got nowhere near the pump impeller.

Worked like a charm! Mine was disgusting - there were two socks, $1.50+ in change, bobby-pins, safety pins, and other random junk in there. It smelled like a combination of Indian food & dirty diapers. All of the coins are permanently stained black. But... It looks like it worked! Thanks for posting.

Wish I'd seen this earlier, before I made the mess on the floor with all the water within the pump, etc. Vacuum is a great idea. I found, heaven forbid, a quarter that had blocked the complete hole in the middle of the 'diverter/coin trap.' Along with spin problems in normal wash cycle when the 'spin' was selected it would pump for about 2 minutes then the display would change to 0.02. I thought it was indicating 2 minutes left and never gave a thought to it. I guess the coin prevented water removal in a timely manner which shut down the machine. This caused all kinds of problems with the normal cycles also. Too many to list. Other video's didn't really address the 'Nexxt' and how much a plugged discharge could cause.
